ORCHESTRAL QAWWALI PROJECT RETURNS TO ROYAL ALBERT HALL
Following its sold-out debut at the Royal Albert Hall, the genre-defying Orchestral Qawwali Project returns to London’s iconic stage on 24th October 2026, bringing together the spiritual power of Sufi music with the grandeur of a full symphony orchestra.
Created by critically acclaimed composer and arranger Rushil Ranjan and renowned vocalist Abi Sampa, the Orchestral Qawwali Project reimagines the centuries-old tradition of qawwali through rich orchestral arrangements, soaring vocals, powerful chants and Indian classical dance.
This special performance will feature the BBC Concert Orchestra and London Voices, conducted by Melvin Tay, in a new chapter for the acclaimed project. Audiences can expect entirely new, never-before-heard repertoire alongside much-loved favourites, with a renewed choral focus exploring themes of universal spirituality, connection and shared human experience.
At its heart, the Orchestral Qawwali Project seeks to honour qawwali’s original intention: to move audiences beyond the everyday and towards spiritual rapture. By bringing South Asian musical traditions into dialogue with Western classical music, the project creates a sound that is both deeply rooted and entirely contemporary.
After captivating audiences across the UK and internationally, the Orchestral Qawwali Project returns to the Royal Albert Hall for one unforgettable evening of music, movement and devotion. Get your tickets here.
