OSCAR-WINNING DIRECTORS OF “NO OTHER LAND” PRESENT “NAZA”, NOW IN UK & IRELAND CINEMAS

Last week saw the UK premiere of NAZA at The Ritzy, followed by a live Q&A hosted by Dogwoof and the Guardian. The screening brought audiences together for an evening of film and discussion, offering an opportunity to engage with the film’s subject matter and explore the systems behind the violence depicted. The post-screening Q&A invited further reflection on the film and the realities facing Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

From Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the Oscar-winning directors behind No Other Land, comes NAZA, a film examining the systems behind the killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. Shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, the film offers a detailed look at the structures and mechanisms behind the violence, bringing audiences into a setting from which the realities of the conflict can be examined.

Following the international recognition of No Other Land, Abraham and Szor return with a work that places the experiences of Palestinians and the systems shaping their lives at its centre. With its distinctive nocturnal setting, NAZA turns its attention towards the relationship between place, power and the violence inflicted on civilians in Gaza.

Set against the night-time skyline of Tel Aviv, NAZA offers a perspective on the systems behind the mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The film’s rooftop setting provides a striking backdrop for its subject, drawing attention to the structures and processes through which violence is carried out. By examining these systems in detail, NAZA invites audiences to look beyond individual events and consider the wider mechanisms behind the devastation experienced by Palestinians.

The film arrives in the wake of No Other Land, the documentary co-directed by Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor, Basel Adra and Hamdan Ballal, which received international acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 97th Academy Awards in 2025. That film brought Palestinian experiences of displacement and the destruction of communities in the occupied West Bank to a global audience. Abraham and Szor’s involvement in NAZA continues their engagement with the realities of Israeli-Palestinian violence through a cinematic lens.

At a time when the experiences of Palestinian civilians in Gaza remain a subject of urgent international attention, NAZA brings its focus to the systems behind the violence. Its night-time rooftop setting in Tel Aviv provides a distinctive visual framework for an examination of the relationship between the city and events unfolding in Gaza, encouraging audiences to consider the wider structures that shape the conflict.

Through its focused approach and striking setting, NAZA offers audiences an opportunity to engage with a subject that continues to demand attention. The film places questions of accountability, civilian suffering and the mechanisms of violence at the forefront, contributing to ongoing conversations about the human consequences of the war in Gaza.

NAZA is now showing in cinemas across the UK and Ireland. Watch the trailer here.
